E.ON’s energy centres play a vital role in powering cities, yet often operate out of sight. The projects at Citigen in London and Blackburn Meadows in Sheffield set out to change that, using design to make these industrial sites more visible, engaging and reflective of the brand’s sustainability story. Work included developing a scalable visitor tour system with clear, consistent signage and navigation; exploring entrance and façade concepts to improve street presence; and creating large-scale exterior treatments and animated projections visible from the motorway, supported by early interior mood boards and layouts to extend the experience inside.
